Rodrigo Sabiah was born in Porto Alegre, Brazil, and is recognized as a remarkable example of personal transformation and social reintegration in his country. As a formerly incarcerated person, he rebuilt his life and now works as a public speaker, social entrepreneur, and activist dedicated to supporting other formerly incarcerated people and vulnerable young people.
At 18, Rodrigo was imprisoned for the first time; at 23, he returned to prison, where he discovered reading and began a deep process of self-reflection and change. After his release in 2012, he faced prejudice and a lack of opportunities but found in recycling a path to rebuild his life. This experience led him to create a recycling cooperative that provides jobs for formerly incarcerated people and inspired the project Reciclando Vidas, through which he has delivered lectures and workshops in communities, schools, and prisons, promoting social entrepreneurship and education as tools for reintegration.
Today, he is recognized as an important voice in the fight for social reintegration and living proof that transformation is possible when opportunities are given.
