Kofi serves as the Leader for the Global Freedom Scholars Network South Africa Chapter, a global network of justice-involved university students. In this role, he oversees two Prison-to-College Pipeline-SA initiatives: the Accounting for Change (A4U) Program at Allandale Correctional Centre, which offers university-level education in accounting and pathways into the profession, the Ubuntu Learning Community (ULC) at Brandvlei Correctional Centre, which brings traditional students from Stellenbosch University into prison for a short course alongside their incarcerated peers. Both programs, partnerships with the South African Department of Correctional Services (DCS) and supported by Boston City Campus (A4U) and Stellenbosch University (ULC), challenge stereotypes and rehumanize learning by emphasizing its social, ubuntu-focused dimensions—collaboration, community-building, and connectedness.
Kofi completed a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) at the University of South Africa (UNISA) and is a graduate of the Ubuntu Learning Community. He is also a researcher at Incarceration Nations Network (INN) and serves as a curator for its The Writing on the Wall installation. Through his leadership, research, and creative work, Kofi contributes to transforming the experience of incarceration by promoting education, social reintegration, and human dignity.
